Infosys has formally expanded its Mohali Development Centre with an investment of approximately Rs 290 crore. The new facility will feature a 350,000 sq ft software development block designed to accommodate around 3,000 employees.
The expansion aims to enhance Infosys's capabilities in delivering AI-led, cloud, and digital transformation services for global clients. It is also intended to advance the company's AI-first strategy and operational agility.
State officials, including Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, highlighted that the investment strengthens Punjab's position as a technology hub and will generate significant employment in the region.

Software services company Infosys on Thursday announced the expansion of its Mohali Development Centre (DC), with a formal groundbreaking ceremony held on the campus.
The software major has invested about Rs 290 crore in setting up the new facility, which will strengthen its presence in North India.
On the government side, the ceremony was attended by Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Minister for Investment Promotion, Power and Local Government Sanjeev Arora, and other officials. Senior Infosys leaders in attendance included Jayesh Sanghrajka, chief Financial Officer; Sunil Kumar Dhareshwar, executive vice president; and Niladri Prasad Mishra, senior vice president.
As part of the expansion, Infosys will develop a new software development block along with supporting facilities. The project will have a built-up area of about 350,000 sq ft and will accommodate around 3,000 employees, enhancing the companyâs ability to design, co-create and deploy AI-led solutions at enterprise scale.
Infosysâ current operations in Mohali employ close to 1,000 people and deliver advanced digital services to global clients across sectors such as banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), retail and healthcare. The expanded campus will further strengthen the companyâs capabilities in cloud, AI, application development and digital transformation.
âThe expansion of Infosysâ Mohali DC strengthens Punjabâs position as an emerging hub for technology and innovation,â Mann said, adding that the investment would generate employment opportunities for youth in the state and neighbouring regions while strengthening the IT ecosystem.
Sanghrajka said the expansion marks an important milestone in advancing Infosys' AI-first strategy. âThis integrated development enables us to leverage strong local talent, enhance operational agility and provide employees with a flexible hybrid work environment,â he said, adding that the investment would also contribute to the regionâs technology ecosystem and create high-quality employment opportunities.
