Apple has updated its high-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with new M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, following the earlier update to the low-end model. These new configurations feature increased base storage and faster SSD speeds compared to the previous M4 generation.
The updates are accompanied by price increases for all models, as the new base configurations now come with double the storage, eliminating the previous lower-storage, lower-cost entry points.
The M5 Pro and M5 Max chips introduce a redesigned CPU core structure, featuring six new "super cores" and twelve new "performance cores" optimized for pro workloads, claiming significantly higher multithreaded performance compared to the M1 generation.
